Contest Runs Monday, January 14th – February 24th (Enrollments and 1st Weigh-ins Jan. 2-13)

How does the Challenge work?

  • Five (5) people to each team - $50 Enrollment Fee for each team member
  • A team may consist of five (5) members of Baillargeon Athletics Fitness Bootcamps & Summit Fitness and Sports, non-members or a mixture. Non-Members are offered a 6 Week Membership during this challenge for $99, if they choose – please also consider our membership plans starting a $10 per month
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to participate
  • The first weigh-in is January 2nd – January 13th. The final weigh-in is February 18th – 24th.
  • Mandatory weigh-ins every week. If any team member fails to weigh-in prior to the required dates, the team will automatically be disqualified. Participants can come to Summit Fitness and Sports from 5:30am-8pm / Monday through Friday and 10-4pm on Saturday and Sunday to weight in and log their weight with a Summit Fitness and Sports staff member. All weigh-ins must be initialed by the club employee and the participant
  • Members and non-members are recommended to complete 4 workouts per week minimally (24 total workouts) during the contest. A combination of strength training, cardiovascular, and group fitness classes are recommended to achieve maximum results. Participants are encouraged to enroll in Baillargeon Athletics BootCamps or PULSE Personal Training programs during this period for maximum results at 10% off all programs
  • Individual weight loss amounts will be private and not shared with others. This is a team effort and only team weight loss % will be public. An on-going overview of the Challenge will be published via media outlets including but not limited to newspaper, radio, social media outlets, websites and at Summit Fitness and Sports Norwich / Baillargeon Athletic LLC sites
  • Your image may be used for promotional purposes – Permission is granted with enrollment in the challenge
  • Each team member’s names and contact information will be available to their team members only for the sake of coordination, planning, motivation etc.
  • Prior to the Weight Loss Challenge, all contestants must complete a registration form, activity readiness questionnaire and a waiver
  • Participants must weigh-in with shirt, shorts, and no shoes and must show ID each time they weight in
  • A minimum of 20 teamsmust participate in order to run the challenge. A full refund will be given to each participant if the minimum requirements are not met
  • No refunds will be issued after registration fee is paid, with the exception of the minimum requirements of team members not being met
  • If a team member becomes injured or is unable to continue, their last recorded weight will be their ending weight
  • If there are more than 20 teams, the grand prize is still $5,000
  • The team that loses the greatest percentage of their starting team weight wins (i.e. starting weight of 220 lbs. and ending weight of 200 lbs. would be a loss of 9% body weight)
  • Prize money does not need to be spent at Summit Fitness and Sports. A check for $1,000 will be issued to each of the 5 winning team members. Cash winners are responsible for all taxation on this money
  • Chris Baillargeon, owner of Baillargeon Athletics LLC will be calculating the % weight loss for each team at the end of each week (after 4pm on Sundays) All results will be published on Mondays
     
    Finale Party – Tuesday, February 26th / 6pm @ Summit Fitness and Sports  – Winning Team will be announced!
